Beacon Crew lead, foundry shift supervisor — second generation, age 38
Charismatic in the way of people who learned young that no one was coming to help them, with a temper he keeps on a short, visible leash. He believes in the colony with a fervor that embarrasses his own friends.
He was the first child born at Cinderfall, three weeks after landfall, in a tent that no longer exists; he was raised by a rotating crèche after his mother's lungs failed at four. He started in the foundry at twelve and has run the beacon lattice work since he was thirty.
He knows the original landfall survey was wrong about the third cistern's aquifer, and he has chosen not to tell the council until after the beacon fires.
